Fall Season 2010

We will start our season August 14th, 15th and end October 30th and 31st. We will not play labor day weekend September 4th and 5th.
Team reservations and payment need to be in by July 24th. All player registrations forms, photos and team rosters need to be in by July 31st.
Send these to the league registrar Carol Case 64-5322 Puukapu St. Kamuela, HI 96743
The divisions will be U10, U12, and U14; Depending on the teams entered we will try and group them competitively. The number of teams registered will determine the older division. I suspect that it will become one older U19 or High School division. The format will be 7 aside for U10s, 9 aside for U12s and 11 aside for U14 on up. The divisions will be coed until we can get 6 gender specific teams in that division.
We are planning on having 10 games per team in each division.
The length of the games will be as prescribed in the HYSA team Manual with the exception of the older (High School division) division. U10s will be 2-25 min halves, U12s 2-30min halves and U14s will be 2-35min halves. The older division should plan on playing 2-40min halves however we could add 5min a half depending on field space and the desires of the team coaches. U10s and U12s will use size 4 ball, U14s on up will use a Size 5 ball.
The team fees are based on the length and number of games you play.
U10s $25/game, $250 for a season of ten games plus $50 for field charge and $50 refundable forfeit fee, total of $350/team
U12s $30/game, $300 for the season, $50 field charge, $50 refundable forfeit fee, $400/team
U14s $35/game, $350 for the season, $50 field charge, $50 refundable forfeit fee, $450/team
U19-High School division $40/game $400/season, $50 field charge, $50 refundable forfeit fee $500/team
As per the BI-HYSA policy if a team should forfeit a game a $25 charge will be assessed. Your $50 forfeit fee will be returned at the end of the season if you meet your obligations
A refund will be issued for teams that are scheduled for less than 10 games.
Any team submitting a team a late team reservation form will need to include a $50 late fee.
Scheduling, In general games will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays with the younger groups playing on Saturdays. Most games will be played at the Parker with the exception of Hilo vs Hilo teams and Kona vs Kona teams. However this will also be based on field availability issues. We will try and schedule double headers as a way of reducing travel.
All coaches are required to have a (E) license to coach in the Big Island League. The next (E) course will be offered in June. Information about the course is listed in Upcoming events on the home page.
Only persons having in their possession a valid HYSA Officials Pass issued to them may actively participate with a team during a HYSA sanctioned game or activity. This means that all coaches that will be on the technical side of the field must have completed a Volunteer Disclosure Form. The form and directions may be found at www.hawaiisoccer.com. Be advised, my understanding is that the mail gets picked up on Thursdays and it takes a good month if not more to get your ID so please don’t leave your players and the league hanging by waiting to get this form completed. Each coach is also required to submit a registration form.
Recertification is reguired for all coaches each year to coach in the BI-HYSA league. The board has adopted a policy of requiring each BI-HYSA coach to continue his/hers education thru either upgrading his License or by taking a approved coaching clinic.
Team and Club Officials are required per section 4.1.2 of the Team Manual to submit a Volunteer Disclosure Form (VDF). Each team official is also required to submit a registration form. In order to compete, a team needs to have a team official (administrator or coach) with the proper credentials on their sideline.
Division Waivers may be requested for a team to play in a different division if they feel for any reason that it would benefit both them and the league. These waivers will be issued on case-by-case bases.
